Diagnosis and therapy of acute, chronic or allergic diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract
Do you suffer from shortness of breath or have a chronic cough? Do you feel a problem with your lungs or airways? As a specialist in pneumology, I offer my patients competent care in the entire field: asthma and allergy, bronchitis, COPD and emphysema, pneumonia, sleep-related breathing disorders (sleep apnea) and after a covid infection. In the practice, the complete internistic-pneumological diagnostics, including allergy testing, as well as sleep apnea diagnostics are performed. In addition, in the case of shortness of breath in stressful situations, spiroergometry with measurement of respiration and cardiovascular parameters can determine whether the lungs, heart or muscles are responsible for these complaints.
Lung function measurements
These basic tests allow conclusions to be drawn about the existing lung volume, respiratory flows and airway resistance. Fine inflammations or hypersensitivities of the bronchial system can be analyzed and airway stenosis detected. The results provide valuable information about airway and lung function. They form the basis for correct diagnosis and initiation of individual therapy measures.
Asthma
In asthma, the airways are narrowed. The immune system reacts hypersensitively to certain stimuli. The mucous membranes then swell and the bronchial tubes tighten.
The result is recurrent attacks of shortness of breath, chest tightness, coughing and shortness of breath, especially during exertion. Asthma is easily treatable with medication. One of the most common causes of asthma is pollen allergies.
COPD
The lung disease COPD accelerates the breakdown of lung tissue. The alveoli, through which the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide with the blood takes place, are increasingly destroyed and the wall of the small airways successively becomes unstable. As a result, the small airways collapse prematurely during exhalation and air can only escape very slowly. As a result, the lungs inflate more and more, a so-called pulmonary emphysema develops. COPD is caused by chronic inflammation of the airways and lungs, often caused by pollution of the air we breathe.
Sleep-related breathing disorders (sleep apnea)
My solution approach: A "small sleep laboratory" can take place as a "sleep laboratory at home". New technical methods make it possible to perform this examination in the home environment.

Ultrasound diagnostics

Thyroid disease and hypertension

Hypertension affects at least 30% of the population, depending on age.
